Welcome to our 20th Christmas Pack! We have included some more expensive items this year, which has pushed the price up. However we do feel that the pack is extremely good value.

1. Reindeer Pop Up Card. Being a gift in itself, this handmade card is a perfect Christmas Card for loved ones or even to send to family and friends living abroad. 15 x 15 cm. White envelope included.

2. UFO Balloons by Heebie Jeebies. There are two balloons in the pack. Use the little plastic straw to inflate them, and then set them spinning.

3. Procrustean Puzzle. Procrustes was a character in Greek myth. The son of Poseidon, he invited passers by to spend a night in his iron bed, and since no-one ever fitted the bed exactly, he would physically alter his guests by stretching or amputating them. This puzzle from Vladimir Krasnoukhov takes its inspiration from this story!

4. Animal Finger Puppet. This will either be an elephant, a lion or a chimpanzee.

5. Finger Trap. Slide a finger in at each end. Then slightly pull and the finger trap will… trap you! Pushing your fingers together will cause the trap to slightly widen, and allow you to escape. Phew!

6. Mosaic Pictures from Japan. A set of 5 elegant postcards, each of which has a simple pattern on the front. At first sight, they just seem to be a random collection of coloured squares. But as you hold each postcard further away, until the squares start to blur slightly, you should start to see a famous picture. The pictures are i) Leonardo da Vinci, Mona Lisa; ii) Johannes Vermeer, Girl with a Pearl Earring;  iii) Katsushika Hokusai, The Great Wave; iv) Toshusai Sharaku, Otani Oniji III in the Role of the Servant Edobei; v) Edvard Munch, The Scream.

7. Magnetic Finger Fiddles. Is this the best fidget toy of 2020? You can also do tricks with them. Three rings in a blister pack. Colours vary.

8. Soap in the shape of π. For all budding mathematicians. Colours vary.

9. Happy Stick – create your own balloon animal.

10. Hooey Stick. A plastic stick with a small propeller at one end. Rub your nail along one side of the Hooey stick and the propeller will turn. Rub the other side of the stick, and the propeller will turn the other way!

11. Heart Metamorphosis optical illusion from Professor Kōkichi Sugihara of Japan. From one side, you see four hearts. From the other side, a heart, club, diamond and spade. Place a mirror behind, and you can see both at the same time! Notice that the heart is the right way up, whichever way you look at it. A stunning illusion!
