The Dancing Disc Kit
This fascinating physics demonstration mesmerises everyone that sees it.
The base is a slightly concave mirror. There is then a heavy metal disc, which you place on the mirror, and spin. What happens then? Well, just like spinning a coin on a table, the disc both spins and rolls, until it comes to a sudden stop, the final stages being accompanied by a sound of increasing frequency. A coin spun on a table will not spin for very long. The Dancing Disc, by contrast, spins for a long time before coming to rest.
The steel disc weighs 450 grams, and can easily be made to spin for a minute and a half or even longer! The best thing really is to watch the video. It is a lot of fun showing this to someone who has not seen it before - the fact that it spins for so long is surprising, as is the ending. The ending is not only spectacular, it also has a spectacular name - a finite-time singularity!
The kit requires some construction in order to complete the base.

The mirror is made of glass, and therefore we recommend that it is suitable for Age 14+. It is suitable for younger children under supervision. This is not a toy.

Shipping
We aim to ship orders within 48 hours.
For UK deliveries, we use DHL Parcel (UK) and EVRI.
For deliveries to Europe we offer a choice of DPD or DHL.
For deliveries outside Europe, we ship by DHL.
Our warehouse works Monday to Friday only. If we receive your order by 10am then we aim to ship the same day or the next day, depending on how busy the warehouse is. On the day your order ships, the warehouse will send you your tracking number by e-mail at 7pm UK time. The delivery time to reach you will depend on the shipping option you have chosen.
Returns
We will accept items that you wish to return, within 30 days of placing the order. You are responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to us, and it must be in saleable condition. We will refund you the cost of the item. Please let us know if you wish to return an item before you send it.
If the item is faulty, please let us know, and we will ship a replacement or refund your money, as you wish.
