The Musical Bank toy was made by Otagiri, a Japanese company, in 1979. It is battery operated, and when you insert a coin, it hits a contact, and causes the mechanism to run. As well as playing 'Happy Days are Here Again', the car and the two occupants have a delightful action, as they bouce along a country road.
I came across an old musical box I was given several decades ago. Unfortunately it no longer works, however I was delighted to find your page showing the exact same musical box in action... Matthew Brownlow
