This tin toy was made in Japan in 1986 by the Yone Company. Also known as the Mechanical Groolies Car (not exactly sure what a Groolie is, but I don't think I would fancy a lift from this lot!
The mechanism is fun, although not all that effective. When you wind it up and set it going on a table top, the bonnet flaps up and down. Underneath is a flat piece of metal, which moves with the bonnet. Very slowly this up and down motion interacts with the table top and causes the car to go forwards.
