If you are ordering goods from the Grand Illusions Toy Shop, we ship to most countries in the world.

We will normally ship within 24 hours of receiving your order, and often quicker than that.

When you place an order with us, you should get an immediate acknowledgement by e-mail. If this does not arrive, please check that you have supplied us with the correct e-mail address. Please also check this confirmation e-mail to make sure that we have the correct delivery address.

We will send goods within the UK by First Class Post, by Royal Mail Special Delivery, or by Interlink Express Couriers. You will be able to choose which service you require at the checkout. First Class Post normally arrives next day, but this is not guaranteed. Royal Mail Special Delivery will arrive by 1pm the following day (Monday to Friday only) and will require a signature.

We also offer Royal Mail Special Delivery with Saturday Guarantee to some destinations in the UK. Orders received by 1pm on Friday will be sent that day, and will arrive by 1pm the following day, i.e. Saturday.

The Interlink Express Courier service needs to be ordered by 12 noon in order to be sent that day. Orders arriving after that time are likely to be sent the following day. Interlink delivers to UK addresses between Monday and Friday, i.e. if you order on Friday, your order will arrive the following Monday. Packages sent to the UK Mainland and the Isle of Wight should arrive the next day. Packages to Northern Ireland, the Channel Isles, the Isle of Man, the Scilly Isles, the Scottish Highlands and the Scottish Islands are a 2 day service. A signature is normally required. If you want the package to be left with a neighbour if you are out, or left in a safe place, please indicate this in the shipping insructions when you place the order. If you supply a mobile phone number you will get a text message telling you the 1 hour time slot when your package will arrive. If we do not have a mobile number, then a message will be sent to your e-mail address. Please make sure that your mobile number and your e-mail address are entered correctly when you place your order.

The post is collected from our offices at 3pm UK time. Normally, orders for the Royal Mail which are received by 1pm will be sent the same day.


We offer International Standard (formerly Air Mail) as the standard way of sending packages to international destinations. The Royal Mail state that packages should reach European destinations within 3 working days, and worldwide destinations within 5 - 7 working days. However we do know that packages can take longer than the stated time to arrive. For example, packages can take several weeks to clear through US customs. Please bear in mind that Royal Mail only handle your package while it is in the UK. Once it reaches the destination country, it is handled by the postal services in that country. Items sent by Royal Mail will be delivered by the postal service in the destination country.

Please note that regular International Standard does not have a tracking number. If you require this, please use one of the other international services.

Depending on the destination, you will be able to choose one or two options from the following list:

International Tracked & Signed
This is a combination service offering end-to-end tracking, signature on delivery and an online delivery confirmation.

International Tracked
This service offers tracking at 5 points after despatch, as well as an online confirmation of delivery.

International Signed
The item is tracked within the UK and only handed over at its final destination once the recipient has signed for it.

We also offer an International Economy option (formerly called surface mail). Items sent by International Economy can take up to 6 weeks to arrive for packages sent to North America, and up to 12 weeks to each Australia. Surface Mail does not have the option of a tracking number.

All of the above services are collected by the Royal Mail here in the UK, and will be delivered by the regular postal service in the destination country. Plase note - these are not courier services.

We also offer a courier service to many European destinations, using a company called DPD. The cost of this depends on which country we are shipping to. This option often works out cheaper for larger orders.

We offer UPS Courier Service to USA, Australia and New Zealand. This can be booked via the web site. Courier services to other countries can be arranged if requested.


If we ship to an address in the UK or in the EU, then we are legally obliged to add Value Added Tax of 20%. The only exception is if you are based in the EU, and you have a valid EU VAT number.

If we are shipping to a destination outside the UK/EU, then we do not have to charge VAT. That is why all our prices show the cost including VAT, and also the cost excluding VAT. However if we are shipping an order without VAT (to the USA for example) then the customer may be charged tax in the destination country. A low cost item, sent through the mail, may well not incur any tax. However larger value orders are more likely to attract tax.
