This apparently dead and dried up plant (actually a fern) comes to life as soon as you place it in water, unfurling into a vigorous green fern. When you remove the water, it quickly dries up again, going back to its dormant state. The cycle can be repeated endlessly. Also known as The Rose of Jericho, or Anastatica hierochuntica, these plants are found in arid areas, such as the Negev and Sahara Desert. When it is growing, it is about 6 inches tall, with tiny white flowers. When the soil dries out, the roots dry up and it completely drops it flowers and foliage. The remaining stems roll about with the wind, much like the tumbleweeds of the American west. When it is moistened, it quickly unfurls, and becomes green again.A present for someone curious about the natural world maybe, or possibly for someone who is a terrible gardener - this is one plant it is hard to kill!Write a review about: Resurrection PlantAsk a question about: Resurrection PlantPeople who bought this item also bought:
