Olive Wood Top

This unusual top is made from a single piece of wood. It has been turned on a lathe, and the two rings have been 'undercut' so that they are separate from the top, although they cannot be removed.

There is a slight inward curve to the spindle, so when the top is spun, the two rings or discs climb up to the mid point of the spindle. In addition, the two rings move in opposite directions, thus helping stablilise the top.

The Olive Wood Top is 7cm high.
