This plastic box has two, adjacent windows. One shows a monochrome Mickey, with feet firmly on the ground. The other window, just next to it, contains a technicolour Mickey, jumping for joy. Two realities, contained within a single box!
The Tenyo Company in Japan originally designed this type of toy, where a box is divided into two by a diagonal mirror, with a reflecting surface on both sides. A small object is cut in half, and stuck to the mirror - its reflection makes it seem whole again! And in the other half of the box, a completely different scene can be created.
The box containing Mickey Mouse was originally sold at the Disneyland in Tokyo.
