Another hand made item from the Grand Illusions glass blower!

Glass Pens date from around 1900. The pen is often quite decorative, as you see here, and is made of solid glass. However around the nib are shallow grooves, and when you dip the pen into the ink, these grooves hold the ink, which moves down to the nib as you write. Like any traditional pen, you need to dip it in the ink regularly, to recharge the nib.

The pen comes in a very elegant presentation box, complete with a matching ink bottle with ground glass stopper, and there is also a glass pen rest. It could be used as a special graduation present, or retirement present, but would also appeal to pen collectors, and lovers of the unusual!

There are several colour schemes. Gold, which is shown here, green, and clear and red. All the colours have a slight metallic/irridescent tinge to them.
