Dual Art

These wooden carved figures have an usual property - viewed from one direction they seem to show one shape, yet when you rotate them by 90 degrees, they appear as a completely different shape!

These examples show a wolf and also a moon, the profile of Sherlock Holmes or a violin, and the last example shows a magician pulling a rabbit from out of a hat, but if you rotate the figure by 90 degrees, it becomes a rabbit pulling a magician out of a hat!

When viewed at an intermediate position, the sculpture is just a jumble, since you are seeing a combination of the two figures.
